The Eco-Schools Program
Consideration of local cultural and ecological specificities
From the location of the Medersat.com schools comes a part of the knowledge imparted in school, just as universal knowledge and values are taught there. By taking into account the social, artistic, and ecological realities of the child's living environment, the school uses traditional games to teach mathematics, traditional tales for reading and writing, and the surrounding flora and fauna for awareness-raising.
This desire to anchor educational content in the child's local environment is facilitated by the educators' belonging to the region where they teach. This is the approach and contribution of the BMCE Bank Foundation for education and the environment to the effective fight against rural exodus.
Medersat.com program
- The environmental component is taken into account for each school project: site selection, compliance with regulations, selection of materials and construction techniques, and integration into its natural setting.
- Schools not connected to the electricity grid are equipped with a photovoltaic solar system. Each school is a place for disseminating environmental concepts: education and awareness-raising of educators and animators on renewable energy issues and solutions, awareness-raising and dissemination of a civic culture for the benefit of children and villagers.
