In order to initiate the implementation of its school construction programme, the BMCE Bank Foundation launched, in 1998, an international architectural competition on the basis of a set of specifications determining the criteria and design bases of these schools.
The concept outlined by the architects responsible for the design and construction of the schools was enriched by suggestions from the local communities, particularly on the use of local materials and know-how.
The choice of location for a community school is made in consultation with the Ministry of Education, avoiding any inconsistency with the existing educational system. Generally, the community school is located in a douar as close as possible to the living areas of the village communities and in proximity to a middle school. Also, the school has to be built on an area of at least 2500m².
School locationBuilding beautiful schools means ensuring that pupils and parents become attached to them and feel a legitimate sense of pride for them. Giving the site a modern and functional architecture that is also adapted to the environment, means allowing people to feel peaceful and comfortable at school. We believe that a secure working environment has to provide this level of serenity and security. Medersat.com is thus open to the douar; it has water and electricity, ensures the scrupulous cleanliness of the children and welcomes the educators-animators in its midst thanks to equipped accommodation.
